Nervous 14-Y.O. Winner of Romania’s Got Talent IN TEARS as He Enters America’s Got Talent All-Stars

14-Year-Old ‘Romania’s Got Talent’ Winner Defies Nerves and Tears to Stunning Performance on ‘AGT: All-Stars’

LOS ANGELES — It is the biggest stage in the world, and for 14-year-old dancer Darius Mabda, the pressure was completely overwhelming.

Stepping onto the America’s Got Talent: All-Stars stage, the young dancer—who previously won Romania’s Got Talent—was visibly in tears before his performance even began. When judge Heidi Klum gently asked if he was okay, Darius admitted to his intense anxiety.

“I’m so nervous because this is my first time in America, and it’s my dream to be here,” Darius told the judges [00:21]. He explained that the stakes felt significantly higher than his previous winning run, calling the American edition “the biggest stage in the world” [00:42].

However, the moment the music started, the tears vanished.

Darius delivered an incredibly powerful, emotional, and athletic contemporary dance routine that left both the audience and the judges stunned. Combining graceful choreography with breathtaking flexibility, his routine showed a level of maturity that completely contradicted his nervous backstage demeanor [01:18].

Following the performance, the judges were glowing in their praise. Howie Mandel compared the young teenager to legendary figures in both sports and dance: “I think that you’re a cross between Nadia Comăneci and Baryshnikov,” Mandel said. “You’re an amazing dancer, you’re an acrobat, an athlete. You just delivered some of the biggest talent in the world.” [03:54]

Perhaps the most shocking revelation came when Simon Cowell asked how Darius learned to dance like that at such a young age. Darius revealed he has only been dancing for six years and is entirely self-taught—learning his jaw-dropping moves simply by watching episodes of America’s Got Talent from his home in Romania [03:24].

“You were so nervous, Darius, and your act started and I’m thinking, ‘kind of seen this before,’ and then it all changed,” Cowell remarked, expressing immense respect for the 14-year-old’s courage to cross the world and compete against the absolute best. “You’ve given yourself a shot. I really, really do [hope the superfans vote for you].” [04:15]

With the backing of the judges and a roaring standing ovation from the crowd, Darius proved that even the biggest stage in the world is not too large for his extraordinary dream.
